Levenshulme to stage its Annual Jazz & Blues Festival

2009 Jazz & Blues Festival staged at m19 bar

Levenshulme's m19 Bar will once again be hosting its annual Jazz & Blues Festival on Friday 27 November. The annual event which was started in 2007 has attracted acts from all over Europe and was one of the first venues to discover X-Factor’s Laura White. The intimate venue in the heart of Levenshulme village has its own specially designed first floor acoustic room which has attracted acts from as far way as Australia.

This year the festival is focusing on its home grown talent in the Northwest and features James Kelly and Natalie Blooms from Chorlton, Lee Bailey from Levenshulme, 2:19 Blues Band from Bury, Jaca from Stockport, Charlie White from Salford, John Ridd from Warrington, Mickey Van Gelder from Cheadle and Stephan Metclafe from Manchester.

Promoter James Hennigan said “It is a great line up, that’s a little bit of everything in the festival from smooth Sexy Jazz acts to full on Delta Blues Bands. This year we have decided to squeeze it all into one night instead of spreading it over a full weekend.”

Doors open at 7pm, with the first act scheduled to go on stage at 7.20pm, tickets are £3 advance or £5 on the door. Advance tickets are available from m19 bar or the Union Bar next door or online at www.m19bar.com
