ALL FM & Levenshulme Festival organise a special tribute night for DJ
Stevie Fly

ALL FM Radio and this years Levenshulme Festival are organising a special
tribute night in memory of the station’s DJ `Stevie Fly´ who sadly passed
away on Wednesday 14th October 2009. Stevie was the presenter behind the
station´s popular `Caribbean Connection´ show which went out every week
on a Saturday afternoon. His funeral takes place on Thursday 29th October
2009 at 11.30am at the Church of God of Prophecy at Moss Lane East,
Manchester, M14 4SS.

Before his untimely death Stevie had planned to stage a special `Caribbean
Carnival´ night on Thursday 5 November as part of this years´ Levenshulme
Festival. His friends and colleagues have decided to go ahead with the
event as a tribute and celebration to the much loved DJ and community
broadcaster.

Gina Hine from ALL FM said "Stevie was an inspiration to everyone, a true
community champion. Everyone at ALL FM is utterly shocked and saddened
by his passing. We will miss him dreadfully. We believe that Stevie would
have wanted the show to go on and we are proud to be supporting this event
in celebration Stevie's life and the difference he made to Manchester and
the community'

Lawrence Hennigan the president of the Levenshulme Festival said "We
were very shocked about Stevie´s sudden death. I was only speaking to him
hours before him passing away about his event for the festival. We were
undecided at first as to what to do about his planned event, but after talking
to his friends and colleagues at the station, they all were very keen to go
ahead with the event as a celebration of his life. The festival has been
overwhelmed with offers of help for the event with DJ’s at the station
volunteering their services and local dancers and musicians from the
Caribbean community wanting to play their part. We want as many of
Stevie’s friends and colleagues to get involved in the event or just to
come along to show their support. For further information about the event
they can text me on 07912512977 or email me at
info@levenshulmefestival.co.uk

The event takes place on Thursday 5 November at m19 bar, 845 Stockport
Road, Levenshulme, M19 3PW, doors open at 8pm, admission is free. The
event will feature a club night with DJ Terry Brandy from ALL FM's Big T's
Caribbean Culture show plus a number of guest DJ's and dancers including
Salsa dancers from Connections Dance centre.
